Album review: Winger

WINGER: BETTER DAYS COMIN’ WINGER album cover

European release April 18th 2014
North America April 22nd 2014

It’s been almost five years since Winger last released a full-length album, but their new record ‘Better Days Comin’ has definitely been worth the wait – it’s no less than fuckin’ great! While listening to the record, I got a mysterious need for simultaneously watching the movies Days of Thunder and Blade Runner as well as guzzle ice-cold draft beers, chilling on the grass hill at Sweden Rock Festival, mourning an ended teen romance, and kissing a guy senseless at a Winger concert! Yes well, no doubt this record brings forth a lot of diverse – and somewhat nostalgic – moods. Also, not a single track on the record sounds the same, which is in itself mighty refreshing. Better Days Comin’ is a conglomerate of musical nuances featuring everything from hard rock & heavy to war metal, stoner, psychedelic, 80s electronica and cinematic grandeur. The title track even mixes classic rock with ‘hallelujah happy’ funk verging on corny, but the bass line is just so groovy that you gotta love it anyway. My advice is to play this record on maximum volume – especially the track ‘Rat Race’ which totally knocks you out! Enjoy the ride!

Crazy Lixx is brewing on a new album!

Pssst all Sleazers!

We are SO happy to pass on the message, that one of our favorite hard rock bands of the newer generation – Swedish Crazy Lixx – is currently working on new album material, with the prospect of releasing their fourth studio album this year!

We had the pleasure of meeting Crazy Lixx members: Danny (vocals), Andy (guitar) and Jens (bass) for a cozy talk in the VIP area on last year’s Sweden Rock Festival.

While waiting exited for more up dates on the new album, we’ll give you a lixx treat – one of our personal favorites, the title song from Crazy Lixx’s latest album Riot Avenue – it’s God damn sleazeliscious!

Fool’s Day is FANTHERS DAY!

Steel Panthers next album ’All You Can Eat’ will be out on 1. April. Thunder Bitches are big fanthers ourselves, so we are looking very much forward to this record. As the track list reveals it might be the dirtiest Panther album so far:

1. Pussywhipped
2. Party Like Tomorrow Is The End Of The World
3. Gloryhole
4. Bukkake Tears
5. Gangbang At The Old Folks Home
6. Ten Strikes You’re Out
7. The Burden Of Being Wonderful
8. F@#king My Heart In The Ass
9. BVS
10. You’re Beautiful When You Don’t Talk
11. If I Was The King
12. She’s On The Rag

All though it is obvious that the band has outdone themselves when it comes to song titles, it is still hard to imagine that they can beat their last album ’Balls Out’ in extremely catchy and rocking tunes. But who knows? We will cross our fingers and rock out to their new single ‘Party Like Tomorrow is the End of the World’.

New single from SISTER

After listening to ‘Naked’, we cant wait to hear the new album from SISTER: Disguised Vulture. It kind of sounds like a fresh version of old school Blackie Lawless bands such as Circus Circus and Sister – Yes he actually had a band called that. One would wonder  wether if thats a coincidence or if the swedish version just stole the name. But anyways we dont care, cause both Sisters rock!!

“Naked is a slow and powerfull song that was written during some dark times. It reflects the feeling of being exposed and how life sometimes can be cruel to you. Naked is kind of different from all the other singles we’ve released and it feels like the right time for doing something like that. This album will give you even more suprises further on!” – SISTER

Disguised Vulture is recorded with Martin Sweet from CrashDïet and will be released on 21. january 21 in North America and January 24th in UK/Europe.

Sabbath Bloody Sabbath

One of the heavy metal highlights of the year might be the release of  ‘13’ the 19th album by Black Sabbath, so lets watch this cool video the night before the year 2013 is over

The Black Sabbath concert in Forum last month must be one of the greatest shows as well this year… Or maybe the easiest one to remember..

We have tried to find good stuff from that night:
